The Inauguration of the Students
Association of Computer Science (SACS’25) was held on 13th September 2025 at
10:00 AM, organized by the Departments of Computer Science and BCA. The event
witnessed the enthusiastic participation of faculty, students, and esteemed
guests.
The program began with a melodious prayer
song performed by the college choir, setting a spiritual tone for the
ceremony. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku,
symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment. The lamp was lit by the Chief Guest
Dr. J. Suganya, Professor, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Trichy;
Secretary Rev. Sr. Finnaian Mary; Principal Rev. Sr. Dr. Lilly Mary;
Heads of Departments — Mr. A. George (Computer Science) and Mr. S.
Stephen (BCA); and student representatives.
Mr. A. George Arokiaraj, Head and Assistant Professor,
Department of Computer Science, then delivered the welcome address,
warmly greeting the dignitaries and audience. The Chief Guest was honoured
with a shawl and memento by Rev. Sr. Finnaian Mary (Secretary) and Rev.
Sr. Dr. Lilly Mary (Principal) as a gesture of appreciation.
A classical dance performance by
students from the Computer Science and BCA departments added a vibrant cultural
element to the occasion.
The highlight of the event was the installation
of office bearers for the Students Association. Ms. Praveena (III CS),
the newly elected President of SACS, proudly read out the names of the
office bearers for the academic year.
Following this, Ms. Alfiya (II CS)
presented the report of the association and the annual plan of
activities for SACS’25. She outlined various academic, technical, and
co-curricular initiatives planned for the year, focusing on enhancing student
engagement, skill development, and career readiness.
Next, the felicitation address
was delivered by the Secretary, Rev. Sr. Finnaian Mary, who
acknowledged the commitment of the students and appreciated their financial
support and cooperation in organizing the event.
The Principal, Rev. Sr. Dr.
Lilly Mary, then felicitated the newly elected office bearers. In
her address, she encouraged students to embrace emerging technologies,
continually upgrade their skills, and work proactively toward achieving career
goals.
The Chief Guest, Dr. J. Suganya,
then delivered her inspiring address. She commended the discipline and
attentiveness of the students, especially their ability to engage without
mobile distractions. She emphasized the importance of staying aligned with
modern trends in technology and urged students to grow with the changing times.
The first session concluded at 10:40
AM.
This was followed by a guest lecture
session titled “The Journey of Modern Technology”, conducted by Dr.
J. Suganya from 10:45 AM to 12:45 PM. The session covered practical and
insightful topics including:

interaction, during which students expressed their thoughts and
appreciation for the informative session.
The event concluded with the Vote of
Thanks delivered by Ms. D. Diviya (III CS), marking the successful
inauguration of SACS’25.
