ENGLISH COMMUNICATION SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAMME Immaculate College for Women, Viriyur organized an English Communication Skills Training Programme on 24.06.2026 (Wednesday) from 9.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. for the II and III year students and faculty members.

ENGLISH COMMUNICATION SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAMME

Immaculate College for Women, Viriyur organized an English Communication Skills Training Programme on 24.06.2026 (Wednesday) from 9.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. for the II and III year students and faculty members.

The programme aimed to enhance the English communication skills of the students and develop their confidence in using English effectively in academic and professional situations. Around 300 students actively participated in the programme.

The programme was honoured by the presence of Rev. Sr. Finnian Mary, Secretary and Rev. Sr. Dr. K. Lilly May, Principal. The Head of the Department, faculty members, and students participated enthusiastically.

        

Two resource persons delivered valuable sessions:

1. M. Agni Bharathi, M.A., M.Ed.,

English Teacher, Teacher Trainer, Student Counsellor, and Doctoral Research Scholar (Education)

Topic: “Artificial Intelligence and Technology in English Language Learning”

The session focused on the importance of Artificial Intelligence and technology in language learning. The resource person explained how digital tools help students improve their reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills.

2. Mr. Manoj R

Assistant Professor of English, Loyola College, Chennai

Topic: “Activity-Based Learning in Communicative English”

The session emphasized the importance of activity-based methods in learning English. Students actively engaged in various interactive activities that improved their communication skills, teamwork, and confidence.

The programme was informative, interactive, and highly beneficial for the participants. The students gained practical knowledge and new strategies to improve their English language proficiency.

The programme concluded successfully with the active participation and support of the management, faculty members, and students.
