Report on Pongal Celebration
Adopted Village: Vadasiruvalur
On 11/01/2025, a grand Pongal celebration was organized in the adopted village of Vadasiruvalur, located just 3 kilometres from our college. This village is home to people of all religions, and agriculture (vivasayam) is their primary occupation.
The event began around 10:00 a.m. With 120 students and three staff members gathering at VAO Office to celebrate Samathuva Pongal.
Pongal Preparation
The third-year student, Ms. Preethi, along with her team and Ms.Stephy, prepared the traditional Pongal dish. The preparation began with prayers, seeking blessings for the occasion. The freshly prepared Pongal was distributed to around 250 people, including village residents, school students, and our college students.
Pongal Program
The formal program commenced at 12:15 p.m. The chief guest for the event was Mrs. Sathiyabama Sampath, the president of Vadasiruvalur. Other dignitaries included Rev. Sr. Finiyan Mary, Secretary ICW, and Mr. Sellakannu.

The program began with a prayer song by I CS student Ms. Jenifer and her team.
Cultural Activities
The cultural events added color to the celebration.
Games and Prizes
Several exciting games were organized for school students from grades 1 to 8.
Lunch and Conclusion
Mrs. Sathiyabama Sampath generously sponsored the stage, sound, and lighting arrangements. She also provided a delicious vegetarian biryani lunch for all students and staff. The event concluded with an end note delivered by Ms. Kavi, III CS, thanking everyone for their participation and support.
The Pongal celebration was a joyful and memorable event, promoting unity, tradition, and cultural pride among the participants.
